Well Hall Haikus

The sky has darkened
The summer sun gone to rest
To rise tomorrow

The dappled ripples
Spread across the constrained pool
Longing to escape

The fragile blossom
Trembles with the blowing wind
Afraid of falling

Alone, the woman,
Cigarette nervous in hand,
Stares into nothing
